A guide to Prince2 Practitioner Training

Prince2 Practitioner training course is designed to enhance the skills of project managers and team leaders from UK based companies. By passing this exam, candidates will be able to become Prince2 certified Practitioners. This certification means that the candidates have got all the necessary skills and training to implement Prince2 methodologies, techniques and components in projects. The Prince2 Practitioner certification is authenticated by Association of Project Management Group (APGM) and is accepted worldwide.

Most of the Prince2 training providers in the UK offer combined Foundation and Practitioner training. Trainees can take both the exams and after passing these exams, they will be able to get themselves registered as certified Prince2 Practitioners. After the completion of Price2 Practitioner training, the trainees will be able to:

• Define projects and apply Prince2 techniques on them
• Identify and differentiate between various processes, components and techniques involved in Price2 implementation
• Identify, understand and describe different terminologies used in Prince2 project management

In order to take the Prince2 Practitioner exam, the trainee must be able to:

• Explain various Prince2 components, processes and techniques in detail with examples from different implementation scenarios where Prince2 was applied
• Understand and apply all the components, processes, techniques and products of Prince2
• Fully understand the reasons and principles behind underpinning the Prince2 processes, techniques, components and products
• Tune and modify Prince2 techniques and components to adopt to various scenarios in a project

Prince2 Practitioner exam is different from Foundation exam in many ways. Instead of 75 MCQs with one hour time, this exam has 9 questions selected from 11 topics of Prince2 Practitioner exam syllabus including a scenario, background and appendices

Each question is of 40 marks but negative marks are also assigned against incorrect answers. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. Passing marks for the Prince2 Practitioner exam are 180/360. Although this is an open book exam yet only Prince2 manual is allowed during the exam.
