Neuro-linguistic Programming, or NLP as it is more commonly known, is a set of insights and skills which encourage the effective management of situations though emotional and physical states. In essence, NLP is a process by which to achieve and unite strategic thinking and behavioural competencies. Often referred to as the "study of success", NLP has been founded on two core pre-suppositions:
Originally introduced by John Grinder and Richard Bandler way back in the 70s, NLP has in it's time appeared subversive, new age and even sinister. What is undeniable however is the impact that many of NLP’s tools can have on personal and professional success.
When we think of communication we only see it on the tangible level - the words that are said, written or shared between people. In reality communication exists on so many other levels, how words are said and expressed and the way that people act when delivering them impacts on how they are perceived. We also have to consider the other person's reaction to those words, which of the words they choose to absorb and which action or expression causes agreement or conflict.
Successful communication depends on effective delivery and response. Advanced Communication training is based on providing those specialised communication skills which are needed to communicate effectively with people at every level, and to get the responses that you need and desire. It studies how other people think and how they prefer to learn and absorb information, which in turn allows you to tailor your communication style to maximise the effectiveness of your communication.
Have you ever felt that you just say the wrong thing during interviews? Or that you start off on the wrong foot with the interviewer? Sometimes it's not what you are saying that is wrong, it's the way you are communicating it. The various advanced communication strategies which are available through NLP can help you to convey information in a way which fits in with that other person's point of view, enabling you to impress during that interview or promotion meeting and start advancing your career.
